The work carried out on this engine includes the replacement of all wearing parts and screws, as well as the processing of all sealing and running surfaces. All components are ultrasonically cleaned and therefore clean without leaving any residue. A list of the testing and repair work carried out can be found in the Scope of Overhaul section. We only use spare parts from well-known manufacturers in original equipment quality. Eliminating the following error sources at the factory leads to a significant extension of the service life:

Update oil pump : The faulty original oil pump is replaced by a MIK update oil pump kit, thereby significantly extending the service life of the engine. Absolutely mandatory when overhauling EA888 engines!
No more oil consumption in the long term: The pistons we use, in combination with innovative piston rings, prevent the permanent entry of oil into the engine's combustion chamber.
Malfunction of the cam adjuster: By using a specially developed oil pump, we adjust the oil pressure so that components such as the camshaft adjustment and chain drive function in the long term.
Timing chain problem: In addition to an improved oil pump, we use a special chain tensioner, which prevents the timing chain from skipping when starting the engine.
