Beim glass bead blasting, an abrasive medium is used as a grinding agent to remove paint residues, rust, scale, or other contaminants. A compressor generates a strong airflow that shoots the abrasive medium at high speed at a specific angle onto the surface to be processed.The surfaces of workpieces are thoroughly cleaned and roughened by the abrasive action of the blasting material.
The choice of the blasting medium depends on the substrate to be processed, the desired effect, and the degree of contamination. In engine construction, this process is effectively used to clean the aluminum components of an engine (cylinder head, timing cover, oil pan). We use such fine blasting material that sealing and running surfaces are not damaged.
The result speaks for itself. The aluminum parts look like new afterwards and do not need to be painted or sealed.
